The idea started when someone said: "Why do we have a Memorial Run every year...When it is too late to actually do something about people's salvation. How about blessing them in the beginning of every year as well?"
The result? Every February a couple hundred bikes (and bikers, of course) descend on Bikers Church, Midrand for a dedication or blessings service. It is always a slightly more festive occassion than the Memorial Service, because we are all still excited about the prospects lying in wait for the New Year.
I find my main job in the last couple of years has been resident traffic officer at the main gate where the bikes enter the parking lot.
I enjoy this part of the job, because I get to greet everyone entering and leaving!
This year, Duncan (my son) joined me for a while at the gate and we had a couple of good laughs along with virtually everyone that entered through the gates.Looking forward the the Blessing service on 22 January 2012! See you there.
