Christmas wind-down

I ended my last (first) article on this blog with the words..."That's the theory anyway..." and I want to start this article with the same words.

In theory we are supposed to be "winding down", wrapping up and closing off the year of 2011. In practice, however, I am finding that the year is picking up speed as a result of a whole bunch of things that need to be completed before we can go on holiday, which will only be in the beginning of the New Year for some of us!

This year has also been quite busy.  I have (so far) 59 directories on my external hard drive with photos of the PBC and CMA events where I have taken photographs in this year!

Think about the fact that there are only 52 weeks in a year and you can see my point about it being busy.

It all starts on 8 January with a CMA Track Day at Zwartkops raceway. The last (current) entry in the directory is 17 December with a trip to an old age home for Christmas.

In between there are a couple of rallies and a whole host of day jols and other parties.

I think it would be appropriate for me to do a write-up on some of these jols as a "tribute" to 2011 in the next couple of days.

This does not mean that the year is over! It merely means that I would like to give people an overview of the year from my perspective.

Maybe this would just help people realise that, in between all the sadness we currently feel over the passing of someone close to us, there are a LOT of good memories as well. Something we need to hold on to as a way of securing our sanity!

I'll start with my overview in the next post and hopefully people can tell me about the stuff I've missed, because I know I didn't go to ALL the events on the calendar.

I know I missed the Buff and the Rhino and the Staffie and the Stag and the Fox and the Whale and the...You see what I mean?
:-)
