2011-05-14 Soup Kitchen Visit

Washer and Christa came up with the idea of supporting a lady in Danville area, who is feeding people from her home.

The group met at the "usual" starting point in Sinnoville, namely the Mickey D's at Kollenade.

Mass ride from there to the venue where we were met by a bunch of enthusiatic locals.

As with most such charity rides, the parcels collected during the year were handed over to the people running the home, and we were really well received by the people who benefit from the efforts of this lady's initiatives.

Some of the kids got toys, while the main idea was to hand over food parcels and a wheelchair for one of the inhabitants of the house.

Then, of course, the bikers took over the event and started taking people around the block on their rides. Always a winner.

Fortunately, the local "coppers" that arrived to check out what was going on, were all in favour of what we were doing, so we had no problems with them.
No such run would be complete without the obligatory noise and rubber smoke, either, which was kindly provided by non other than "Smokey" himself!
